Youth in Water Sector

The Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) took a strategic decision in 2018 to mainstream youth engagement in the water sector at three levels: policy, service delivery, and monitoring and follow-up. Accordingly, with support from the World Bank fund, the PWA established a Youth Committee (YC) for the Water Sector.

The Youth Water Committee

We are composed of eighteen young water and environmental professionals, volunteering our time and efforts in laying the foundation for the institutionalization of youth in the water sector.  We are working closely with the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) toward engaging youth in the water sector and toward creating a platform for youth to actively participate in the domains of Water Services Delivery, Monitoring and evaluation, and the governance of the water sector in Palestine. 

Our primary objective is to work closely with local institutions in Palestine and mainly those in the water sector toward engaging youth, especially entrepreneurs, and innovators. 

Our mission is to contribute toward providing innovative solutions that can respond to and deal with critical water related matters. Therefore, our priority is to increase awareness among youth and adults in our communities about water issues. We strive to construct a new cooperation framework through which youth can contribute positively and creatively to devising water related solutions. We are ready to employ our capabilities collaboratively with public officials, the private sector, civil society, regional and international experts toward creating a better water future in Palestine and the region. 

Youth Water Forum

The Second Palestine International Water Forum includes the launching of the Youth Water Forum Platform that is organized by the Youth Water Committee and for the Youth in Water Sector! The event takes place from 18 July to 21 July 2020 in Ramallah. You can participate in different activities within the Forum, and gain new insight, exchange knowledge.
